Old Age

I've sure gotten old! I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet any more. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.

LOL We have to count our blessings ... a driver's license is important.

Jeannie, if you have fought prostate cancer, I am going to have to re-evaulate my perception as to who you are. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/oops.gif" alt="" />

Good one!

Thanks.

I should have put quotes around that whole post, and cited the source!

(Can't remember now where I got it. Oh, yes. From an email which had been forwarded a hundred times....!)

When I first read your post, it did throw me for a loop. I began to wonder how I had ever missed such an important point as to missunderstand your gender. Yes, I figured it out, but decided to allow my resposne to stand.

Just received my November issue of National Geographic today, containing the lead article on how to live a long and healthy life.

The section of the article relating to Adventists in Loma Linda featered a story on 101-year-old Marge Jetton. I think it said she still drives her own car!

I hope you're not the 93-yr-old man who drove up to the toll booth last week with a body on his hood. Said it just fell out of the sky. shocked.gif

Yes, and she likes to visit the "old folks" at the nursing home, all of whom are younger than she is! grin.gif
