I have just been getting interested in religious music from around the world including even the USA. Fascinating the way people's religious experience comes out in their music.

One type of music I especially like are children and their music. This little girl, Rhema Marvanne of Texas sings very well and the video is of her first recorded song:

Rhema has had her share of life already. The following is a 20/20 segment about her:

For several years now, she seems to have no presence on the internet.

Many years ago at church, special music was called for and an elderly woman got up to sing. She made her way up to the platform with her walker. I was getting curious. I was incredibly impressed by her voice and have ever since felt we were in for some really special music when an elderly person got up to sing.

Willie Nelsen sings a lot of gospel music and I really enjoy hearing him sing. He was probably well into his seventies when he sang "What a Friend We have in Jesus":

The following was a song he sang over 50 years ago in the early days of his singing career. Yeah, you can recognize Wille, but how his voice has changed over the years.

So, while many younger people can sing to technical perfection, I really enjoy the experience that comes with the elderly singers and the freshness that comes from the children when they sing.

The visuals for this musical piece are from the movie "the Gospel of John". My most favorite movie of Jesus I have seen.

16To those selling doves He said, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn My Father’s house into a marketplace!” 17His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for Your house will consume Me.”.....John 2

Shalom Aleichem (Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם‎‎, "Peace be upon you") is a traditional song sung by Jews every Friday night upon returning home from synagogue prayer. It signals the arrival of the Jewish Sabbath, welcoming the angels who accompany a person home on the eve of the Sabbath.

The Byrd song was a cover of a song by the Louvin Brothers

"The Christian Life"

My buddies tell me that I should've waited
They say I'm missing a whole world of fun
But I still love them and I sing with pride
I like the Christian life

I won't lose a friend by heeding God's call
For what is a friend who'd want you to fall
Others find pleasure in things I despise
I like the Christian life

My buddies shun me since I turned to Jesus
They say I'm missing a whole world of fun
I live without them and walk in the light
I like the Christian life

I won't lose a friend by heeding God's call
For what is a friend who'd want you to fall
Others find pleasure in things I despise

I like the Christian life
I like the Christian life
