"C. S. Lewis on Higher Criticism"

Recommended Posts

J Sonnentag

From the description:

C. S. Lewis was reticent to criticize fellow Christians. His one criticism, while put very softly, concerned Higher Criticism. He compared it with modern literary criticism, which he knew well as a subject and therefore thought inaccurate, and suggested that Higher Criticism had less authority.

1. Lewis, C. S. 1981. Modern Theology and Biblical Criticism. Read at Westcott House, Cambridge, on 11 May 1959. Published in Christian Reflections (1981). Available in Fern-seed and Elephants (1998), with typographic errors at http://orthodox-web.tripod.com/papers/fern_seed.html
